One of My Favorites

A podcast by one of my favorite musician's, Tift Merritt, interviewing Nick Hornby who happens to be one of my favorite authors. Tift Merritt's new album comes out on Tuesday February 26th by the way. You can listen to song samples from Another Country here

Another of my favorite authors, Chuck Klosterman, discussing Gram Parsons who happens to be one of my favorite musicians. If you want to hear a bit of Gram I suggest getting GP/Grievous Angel which are his two solo albums that are now sold together. Of course if you're like me, you automatically look up the original track listing and separate the albums. Of course I also immediately remove any bonus tracks from an album I buy.

Now if you dig that album, a lot, I suggest reading Hickory Wind the Gram Parson's biography written by Ben Fong-Torres. Ben used to be a writer for Rolling Stone in the 70's. In Almost Famous he was the Asian writer who was bragging about their modem: "it's a very high-tech machine that transmits pages over the telephone! It only takes eighteen minutes a page!" Anyways, he had access to Gram at various times and writes a very thorough and compelling book.

Not at all related, but one of the Florida blogs I read is reviewing all of the SEC coaches contracts....Including Tommy Tuberville's contract.
